    Dear Members,

After somewhat of a challenging 2020, we enter 2021 with a number of events ahead of us.

We have a carryover of the committee from 2020, this committee shares a great deal of experience and enthusiasm, which puts us in a great place to continue to assist and grow the sport for the benefit of our members during the year ahead. We wish to openly invite anyone that wishes to learn about committee roles to get involved during the year, this might be a great lead in for others to be on the committee for 2022.

One of the big points is that the ROPS review, now complete, has been pushed back for implementation date to 01/01/2022. This allows anyone a great deal of time to adapt old cages to suit the revised spec. This revision requires the following bars (as a minimum) to be added to an old spec car with build date 2020 or older. There are some events in the meantime that may add Supplementary Regulations that require the new specification.

Vertical door spreader bar and at least the lower of the two side intrusion bars, these bars may be either 38 or 44mm spec tube.

Old spec vehicles with twin 4 point cages will need to add rear back stays off the main hoop to the chassis/body prior to the new date also.

Any new vehicles being built, must be built to the full new specification which can be viewed at www.ccd4wd.com.au in the Rules Version 11.1 section 5. Vehicles that have been built to CAMS or AASA spec will have allowances made to be confirmed by end of July.

We are pleased to announce that the Navrun series of events now operates under the CCDA. We look forward to working together with Rudi and his team to provide a great diversity of events for the future.

With a strong focus on making it easier for interstate teams to attend events, along with events being held in multiple states, we are about to roll out a fresh list of interstate scrutineers located in WA, NSW and QLD.

There are a number of events in the pipeline including traditional winch events as well as endurance rally style events through Victoria and New South Wales. A new long course is now in progress plus a new tourer (non caged) event underway. Get ready for it, there’s lots on the go.

We look forward to a prosperous and exciting 2021.

    Regards

    Dear Members,

As we enter 2019, we at the CCDA would like to extend a thanks to everyone who chipped in their time to make 2018 the year that it was. Events spread through both Victoria and New South Wales covering traditional Short and Long Course Winch Challenge, Trials and also the recent introduction of Flat Track Rally. These events were made possible with our members being active and involved.

We have a newly elected committee for 2019, this includes the shifting of a number of roles within the committee and puts us in a great place to continue to assist and grow the sport for the benefit of our members during the year ahead. We wish to openly invite anyone that wishes to learn about committee roles to get involved during the year, this might be a great lead in for others to be on the committee for 2020?

Geoff barby is continuing his work on our Manual of Motorsport, streamlining the ruleset and updating in accordance with the changes that have been made to vehicles and event layout. His hard work adds to the solidity that our framework sets for the future of our motorsport. Members will receive email notification as the updated manual is published. Please make sure your membership details are up to date so that you receive these emails.

The Version 2 of the Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) has progressed significantly with considerable time having been spent on generating a summary document that will be released for member comment in coming weeks. Efforts have been made to ensure that vehicles currently competing will be allowed to do so with minor and relatively simple modifications to existing ROPS.

There are a couple of new short course events in the pipeline, Patrolapart Challenge in March, Dederang date TBC, Drivetech 4x4 Wild Dog in July, Outback Challenge in August, Willowglen in October plus the likelihood of two flat track rally days through the year as well. We look forward to what 2019 has to offer.

    Regards

    CCDA Membership update.

After a vote at the last general meeting (22nd of November) the membership renewal dates will change. Previously all memberships were due January 1st each year, regardless of date paid. This has now changed so memberships will fall due 12 months after your payment.

All current memberships will become due on December 31st 2017 as they normally would have. From that point forward memberships will be due 12 months after the date it’s renewed. (Much the same as vehicle registration etc.)

Any new memberships processed as of the 23rd of November 2017 will also be due 12 months from date paid and will not fall due for renewal on Jan 1st 2018.

If you have issues with your membership please feel free to email registrar@ccda4wd.com.au

If you have forgotten your password please use the forgot password link on the website.

Another year has rolled past and the CCDA as a whole would like to extend a warm thank you to all those who donated their time and efforts to serve on the committee for 2017. We had the pleasure of being a part of some fantastic events this year and without the event organisers this sport wouldn't be here so thank you to those people as well.

With Outback challenge back in full swing and some new short course events on the calendar, 2018 is shaping up to be another great year for the sport.

November saw the AGM, with some new faces on the committee for 2018, have a look at the contact us page for the who's who.

A new version of the Manual of motorsport will be released for public comment by the end of 2017 with some minor changes to vehicle specifications and clarity on some rules that have caused ambiguity in the past 2 years.

We welcome your comments or concerns when the rules are launched, you ill also receive an email so please make sure your contact details are up to date.

We wish all our members a safe holiday period and hope to see everyone out and about in 2018.

    CCDA Management Committee.

The CCDA has been a part of some great winch comps this year, with Cliffhanger continuing its string of fantastic events, and W.A. coming out with what have to be some of the hardest events we have seen to date in both the Pirtek WA Extreme and the Ironman 4X4 Adventure Challenge. We have also had some great news in that the changes to the Victorian legislation that allow winch comps to be run on farm land were finally passed and implemented in September.

There have been some updates to some of our documentation, and if you are an event organiser, you will want to check out the new paperwork that we need completed.  It is available on our website www.ccda4wd.com.au

But we write now with a serious issues.  The CCDA committee needs your help.  With the upcoming AGM in November, we are needing people to think about what they can do to support the association that makes the current competitions possible, who are supporting event organisers in bringing back old events as well as getting on board with new events.  We need you to consider taking on a committee position.  Bring your expertise to the table in support of the sport that you love, the sport that you remember from back in it's heyday.

We are asking that you think about nominating for a position.  We would like to move into a new year with a full committee for once. A committee that we can rely on to share the load.  Without your help, there is a chance that we may not have a committee, and without a committee there is no association, and without that, there is no racing.

As with any AGM, all positions will be up for nomination, but we would like to mostly see the currently open positions filled.

The complete list of committee positions are:

    President
    Vice President
    Secretary
    Treasurer
    Registrar
    Chief Marshal
    Chief Scrutineer
    Logbook Manager
    General Members

If you are interested or want more details, we suggest you come along to the October meeting on Wednesday the 23rd, or contact us for a chat about it.  Nomination forms will be available on the website shortly, or contact us and we can email one out to you.  Remember that the meeting is open to everybody even if you aren't interested in a position.

    Hope to see you there.

With the AGM coming up in November, now is the time to think about what you can contribute to the CCDA as a committee member to keep the association running. Without committee members, there is not much chance that the association will be able to continue into the next year.

You can find the form here.
